My Verona

Today has been a Musicals/Dance Movies day for me, started off with Mama Mia, and now I have moved on to Footloose, the new one not the original. I was very against the remake at first, because they changed all the begining and it kind of lacked a little fire, the original cast were a lot more intense. If this wasn’t a remake though, it would still be an ok movie. I just don’t see it being iconic like the first one is.

Anyway, so due to two monitors, this always gives me the chance to watch and take pics, and get some blogging done. Today is the second last day of My Attic, but today is more about other new and exciting items that have been released this past week or so. First off the wonderful Verona items from The Loft that are featured at The Liaison Collaborative. The pool has been sunken into the actual SL water for my shots, because I was intending to get some reflections happening, but ended up just enjoying what I got. The best thing about being able to sink into SL water though, is that you get to actually swim with your own AO if need be, so definitely use that opportunity if you have the chance.

The pool and decking is just lovely, the tiling is beautiful and it will certainly add to any home. The pool comes with a hot tub as well, which means if Whimsy lays her eyes on it, it won’t be empty for long, she has been trying to get a hot tub at The Deck for so long, one day she even built one at the landing point to the sim lol. The area with the fireplace is also very nice, a great area to just settle in for the afternoon, early evening. I also have the Verona furniture pieces set out, the armchairs have texture change options of white or oatmeal, as well as cushion colours to choose from. Then you have the loungers, that rez different cushions depending on what pose/animation you are using, and they are full of different sits…

LatEXI

Cosmetics Fair is only a few more days, it packs up the same time as My Attic, but straight after that is another NEW and big event. Koreshan Hillbilly Howdown & Country Fair is going to be a fun and exciting event put on by a sim that is pretty famous for having had great events in the past years. I am glad they are doing something again now, and really looking forward to finding out, who and what is going to take place. The sign as you see, says that there will be a lot of attractions, so mark your calendars for Monday when it launches. That in itself is exciting, as events usually start on the weekend, what a great and fun way to chase the monday blues away.

Back to My Attic and Cosmetics Fair though, the Make Up I have on today is by Chelle and Glamorize. The eyeshadow is part of the Moon Dust collection they released for the event, and I love that it really does have a dusty shadow look to it. I love the red, and should have probably not worn a full bangs hairstyle, but you can check it out in person yourself at the fair. I am also wearing the eyelashes on tattoo layers that were also released, I don’t usually go with tatoo lashes as I wear mesh ones, but I liked the combination of both. The lipstick I have on is from Glamorize, and I like the black lipstick look, especially with this outfit.

Takes a Bow

So with all my watching of I Love Lucy reruns the past week, I have been loving all the polka dots and bows, and lovely vintage looks. This dress which is the SySy release for My Attic, is a lovely take on that kind of look, and so adorable in either the solids options, or the striped. I decided to go with the solid, so that I could keep the stripes for my nails, as well as my new tri colour wedges from Slink.

The dress is so lovely, and has a scalloped hemline with a great waisted cinched in and topped with a bow. The nails I am wearing are very similar and were partly inspired by the dresses as well as the reaction to previous lingerie inspired nails I did with bows a few weeks ago, they are also being sold in a special combination pack at My Attic. The timing couldn’t be more perfect, as these shoes just released come with three wedge colour options, as well as almost unlimited options if you go with the multipack. The shoes come with three coloured straps as a single pair, but definitely consider the multipack as you can see with the HUD I showed, you get to just choose from each row/strap and make up as many combinations as you can.

Fudge

The NEW Gogo hair by LeLutka is just beautiful. It has a hat that comes with as a separate attachment,  and both looks are just lovely. It is perfect for a shoulder baring dress such as this great one by Toki Doki. I really like the print used on the dress, and the thin belt cinching the waist is a really nice addition to the look.

This dress would be lovely for a date and early evening look, but also with flats such as these great add on shoes by BOOM, the look can be a nice day out combination as well. The Ventrue flats slip right on over your flat rigged mesh feet, and come in cute little shoe boxes and you can get them in three colour packs.

The necklace and ring I am wearing is part of a set that is at My Attic from HandVerk. HandVerk does beautiful mesh accessories, so be sure to check those out, as they come in three colours at My Attic, and will be available in more colours in a regular release afterwards at full price, so grab the three at a bargain while you can. They come with silver and gold options, so they will go with just about everything.

Beachy Keen

Whimsy and I just released the Tropical Escape Towel set with poses, and sunscreen tubes and cushions for My Attic – Escape. I took these pictures for the vendor ad, but they were so fun to take, and I love the new items we have on, mixed with some older ones, that I didn’t want to waste the pics and not blog them. The towel set is all mesh, and the towels are two versions with 9 textures, the cushions have 6 textures all controlled by a click and menu. Then there are ten poses in the towels that can be solo poses and then some can be combined for applying sunscreen or just being kooky.

The towels actually came about because of the nails sets I made for Flair. I showed Gogo some pics of them, and she said that they would make great tshirts. While I am not in the habit of making clothing, I did however get inspired to turn the hand drawn scenes into towels, as you often do see palm tree towels or gradient looking towels…so thank you Gogo for being inspiring. The poses are great for swimsuit shots, or just enjoying time on the beach, and we decided that they worked for people to just have them for their poolside or beach area, rather than them just being pose props.

The Ophidian

Cosmetics Fair is going wonderfully well the last few days, so many incredible make up layers, nail appliers, fantasy make ups, glamorous make ups and just about everything that can enhance the look of your skin, hands and feet. I had the pleasure of popping over there with Kavar the other day, as I think I did already mention, and I got to see a few familiar faces while there…or at least their names popped up on radar. While I was there I was in IM with Anessa Stine, who is of course one of the Co-Ordinators of Shoetopia which is going to be a huge Shoe Fair event later on this year. You can find all the information for that by contacting either Anessa Stine or Sophia Harlow who was also at Cosmetics Fair while I was there.

As you already know I am sure, Anessa Stine has been running the On Your Toes blog for many years now, and this was always a go to for shoe lovers, for up to date information on releases from many fantastic shoe stores. The event has applications open now for Designers, so do not miss out on the opportunity if you are making shoes. All this talk of shoes, you would think I was actually going to feature some in this post, but I am barefoot in my Slink feet in this pic, so no shoes this time around.

I want Candy

So today I was met with a forest of trees and a picnic, but not because it was all romantic, just Whimsy and her rezzing things in my way thing she does. It was a good morning though, got a lot of stuff done, had a great big chat with Gogo and some others in plurk about contacting designers, and so on and so forth. I am actually about to play a game of Scarlet Blade with Whimsy and Mel right now, but I just had to get this post up and away, because it was so much fun to dress up this way…brought back some crazy memories.

Suits Me

Today was a huge day, first off I moved all of my Flickr Pics over to Ipernity, which is a photo site that Whimsy Winx found when things changed at Flickr. I have a 3 month account and will see how I like it in comparison to Flickr, but I will still post pictures to both locations, as I am part of so many groups and such on Flickr. It was really easy to transfer my pictures, and it also included all the tags, names, and information along with it…so that made things simple.

Then after that I released some New Nail Appliers for FLAIR. Eight new sets with lingerie and latex themes. I am wearing one of the latex sets in this post, because I am really loving the extra long nails. Then after that Sysy, Whimsy, Kavar and I went shopping. A trip to Mandala, then over to Tee*fy and lastly Kavar and I landed at C’est La Vie. There is a sub brand inside of it called ::K:: and I fell instantly in love with this jacket and shorts set. They come in either separates or the combination, and there are three types, denim, leather or this fabulous houndstooth. There is saving on buying the combination, and there are also jackets with an undertank included. I decided to wear this great tank from Somnia underneath it, and it looks great with just the shorts as well.

Shorty What What

One of the great things about mesh clothing, is we now have the ability to wear shorts in cuter, more stylish ways. These shorts by Tee*fy that are at Collabor88 this month are just adorable, the two tone colours, the edging on the bottoms, and the lovely bow tied waist…make them perfect shorts to wear whether casually, or with purpose. Because they are higher waisted, it was a bit tricky finding something to wear up top, but the other item at c88 by Tee*fy is this glorious blouse with the divine frilly detailing down the front.

ImPORTANt

I have a slight obsession with pinstripe, I think it is a fantastic fabric, and just love what can be done with it now that we have mesh. In the past system layers would distort pinstripe that it often just was not a good look, but now we can revel in it. The NEW Portan bustier/corset top from SySy’s just hit the store, and it comes in many delicious colours. There are also amazing brights colours and the lemon will be my favourite especially with the upcoming sunnier SL days…while I freeze my buns off Down Under.

Every year I declare to myself I wont follow the seasons in SL that I will try and stick to my own, so that I can at least feel snuggly and warm, but there are always such beautiful creations released, there is no way that can ever happen. It is rough during our summer though, sweating and bundling up my avatar in snow boots and parkas lol. While summer in SL can fool me into feeling warmer, winters in SL just makes it hotter.
