Ok so on the 15th of June , Cosmetics Fair is going to open to the public, and the layout is just fabulous. It is all backstage passes kind of looking, and the set up for the vendors is really easy to navigate. There are wonderful stores involved, and I was unable to resist shopping.

One of the stores involved is Glamorize and their prices are insanely low, like seriously low low low. So I just grabbed everything, and one of the packs I got was actually a dollarbie, and I had liked what I thought was just three lipsticks, but it ended up being eyeshadow as well. Now I haven’t mentioned Bloggers Fate in a long time on my blog, but this was all sorts of bizarro world.

First of all a heads up that on the 7th the Hair Fair Photo Contest will begin. You can find all the information on that, and the rules HERE. I cannot wait to see all your exciting entries…there is a huge prize pool, and the theme is fun fun fun.

I love hair, hair was my first passion in Second Life, I spent every cent I earned on hair, buying sometimes half a dozen styles a day, and back then hair was slim pickings stores wise, so you had to get your fix whenever you could. None of these releases every week or two, back then it could be months between, and you would totally jones for a fix… yes I agree, I have watched way too many cop shows lately. But it was honestly brutal, I would go nuts roaming around Second Life trying to find new hair to wear, back then swapping outfits and hair was a four times a day minimum habit, and I didn’t even blog yet….

ImPORTANt

I have a slight obsession with pinstripe, I think it is a fantastic fabric, and just love what can be done with it now that we have mesh. In the past system layers would distort pinstripe that it often just was not a good look, but now we can revel in it. The NEW Portan bustier/corset top from SySy’s just hit the store, and it comes in many delicious colours. There are also amazing brights colours and the lemon will be my favourite especially with the upcoming sunnier SL days…while I freeze my buns off Down Under.

Every year I declare to myself I wont follow the seasons in SL that I will try and stick to my own, so that I can at least feel snuggly and warm, but there are always such beautiful creations released, there is no way that can ever happen. It is rough during our summer though, sweating and bundling up my avatar in snow boots and parkas lol. While summer in SL can fool me into feeling warmer, winters in SL just makes it hotter.

Cloud Nine

First off, a reminder that Hair Fair Bloggers Day Applications are now up and running…so HERE is the information post on that. Clouds are an amazing thing to watch, even in Second Life I find myself staring at them for a while just watching them move so beautifully across the sky. It gives us this feeling of reality in a virtual world, and the other day I liked the colours of the sky so much I grabbed a snapshot, that I ended up using as my background for todays post.

Better on Top

I have mentioned in the past how much I love a good hybrid, the mixing of system layers and mesh, to really add extra versatility to an item. This Basic Maxi dress is a fantastic example of that, and you will want as many as you can get your hands on, the style, the colours – the appliers – it all works.  I wanted to show how it can go from a casual daytime look, to a dressier night out style with a few simple items added to the look.

With the help of the lovely mesh denim jacket from Emery that is at this months FaMESHed, the combination mixed with the system layer upper portion of the dress is perfect. Adding a few bits and pieces of your favourite jewellery would add a lot of flavour to the look, but I settled for simple today. I was never into denim jackets when they were a big thing in the 80′s but one of my friends was obsessed, and after wearing this one by Emery, I can understand the attraction after all this time. The sunbrella which is a C88 event item by Yummy, is adorable, and thankfully mod also, seeing as it was a bit oversized to start with, but I made it a little smaller.

Rubberise Me

I really love great latex pieces, and this new mini skirt by BOOM is just fantastic. It is rigged mesh, and the liquid effect of the latex texture is spot on. It can be worn with or without the alpha, but this will depend on your shape and how your ao moves I expect, but I had no issues unless sitting down. The skirt is a partial release for the 100 Block event that is now on, with a multitude of fantastic creators involved. Items are at discounted prices, so make sure you get over there and stock up on the lovelies…..

Poncing About

It is rare that I do location pictures, but this beautiful Maxi dress by SySy’s –  for the ongoing Birthday Celebration at FaMESHed – needed to be seen as it would be worn. I love the long flow of the dress, and the soft gradual dye look in the colours, both soft and dark colour packs available. What is really great is the hand drawn flower that SySy hand drew herself, making this not just a beautiful dress, but wearable art. The style is very giving size wise also, even though standard sizes, I was actually able to go down a size, as I usually wear Small up top, but this time XS was wearable and well too.

The jewellery I am wearing with the dress is also from FaMESHed and is the release by Maxi Gossamer, of Gossamer Jewellery who it seems has also gone into clothing creation now, which is exciting news. So check those out. The Jewellery comes with silver or gold options as well as colour choices via clickable menu for the gems.

Chev not Chav

This session of My Attic at The Deck is closing at midnight tonight. So this is your last chance to get all these great items at the 95L price range. The theme was Change, and this Chevron dress with its great shape and lovely texturing, brings thoughts of change with the motion of the great chevron print. I love chevron and with it being an inserted panel style, it really pops. The dress also has appliers options, which is a hard task with upper mesh items, but DCNY has pulled it off incredibly well. The dress comes with and without belt options, and the belts are black or brown…very cool.

Catch me I’m Falling

Ok, first off I am going to have a rant…not a usual SL type rant, but a RL rant if you will. I just started watching Vampire Diaries, and do not panic, I am not about to do a spoilers thing, but I have watched the whole first season, and I am hooked now, even though I have tried to watch the series 4 different times and never, until now, got past the first episode. It got me to thinking though, I do love me some Vampires type shows/movies, and I am like many waiting on the next True Blood to come on…then of course Twilight finished incredibly well I must say, and no I am not obsessive, I just liked it.

But the original and still favourite has to be Buffy and Angel, that was a love story and a half, and I miss the shows a lot. But my rant is, what is with all this rule changing crap. What is with Vampires having reflections, and being able to be out in the sun, and eating garlic, and not needing to sleep all day… I know there were times when Angel could do certain things, but sheeesh I am getting really annoyed and think I got ripped off, and I want to throw down my soapbox and demand a redo, I think that all the originals should have to come back and the whole Buffy and Angel and Spike and whatever should all get to come back with the ‘New Rules” – end rant.

So now that that is out of the way, and expunged from my system. On to the Bee’s, well a mix really. Bee’s through the Seasons event is nearing its end, and there are so many wonderful items to get there, as well as experience the great themed event layout itself. The top I am wearing is actually a dress that I am wearing part of by OkBye. The little spring dress is a micro mini with mesh insert and the colour worked really well with the adorable palms irie skirt by Emery that is at this session of My Attic @ The Deck.

Haus Proud

Lacuna is a new store, and their second release is part of this session of My Attic @ The Deck. The Diametric skirts are pure bliss, not only to wear, but to look at, they elongate the body, and the texturing and colours used are superb. The bandeau tops that are included as a special My Attic option, come in the two colours used in the skirt, so its an incredible Must Have item. The changing of tops can completely change the mood of each look, and I love the resort wear simplicity of the whole look. It also gave me a chance to show off the new skin Nina by LoOmi, not exactly new new this week, but one of the latest releases by the brand, and I not only love the body, and sexy as tummy…but the face is a joy.
