Mel Vanbeeck and Sasy Scarborough on Secondlife.com

At the beginning of this month I turned Six in SL years. The day was almost overlooked, as it was only because I said the date out loud in conversation that it triggered the memory that the date seemed familiar. I have always been so incredibly proud of my time in Second Life, overjoyed by the experiences I have been a part of, and so grateful for the amazing friends and loved ones I have made.

So to receive an email from Linden Lab asking if I would be interested in submitting a picture for their website, just blew my mind. It is an incredible honor to be asked, because there are so many amazing and talented residents in Second Life, and that I could pose with Mel just made it even more special to me. Then the cherry on top was that Whimsy Winx also got asked, and that just made it extra special.

Not only do I now get to log in to Whimsy everyday, but I also got to see once all the pics were put up, that the amazingly talented Strawberry Singh is also featured with Winter Jefferson.

I am so happy to be amongst such talented people. To share this experience with my partner Mel Vanbeeck has just added one more beautiful memory to the many great ones I have of my time here.

The timing of this is perfect as the theme is of course Masquerade, which is the theme on Marketplace at this time, and you can also see a beautiful picture of the lovely Harper Beresford there reclining elegantly.

Thank you to everyone at Linden Lab, especially Xiola and Lexie Linden for organising this, also a huge thanks to the designers that we are wearing, as well as all those that do such incredible work to make Second Life the most magical place there is.

Scaling

Today is the last day of My Attic @ The Deck, so I made a little mix and match post of some of those items, mixed with new and older items from all over the place. The skin I am wearing in the post is from another event going on at the moment, the Skin Addiction Skin Showcase, so be sure – if you haven’t already –  that you check that out too.

The pencil skirt by Cracked Mirror comes in four different colour blends, all named appropriately for the theme of My Attic for this edition, which is Memories of Love & Lust. I especially love this greyscale version, and the texture is so beautiful, and the shading is great. I did have some fit issues around the waist, but with the Lycia tank top from Mon Tissu I was able to make that not an issue at all.

Twicing – When once is not enough

Ok so my obsession confession today is about my latest watching habit. I found Days of our lives episodes on Youtube, and I have been watching them back to back since last september for the past three days. Oh my goodness the amount of drama that can happen in that show in like three days their time. Seriously how any of those families are still living in that town is beyond me, because that place is crazy. But thankfully so, because it does make it fun to watch. Even the crazy in Australian soaps is bordering on boring at the most…we don’t seem to do as far fetched as they do in the States, or even Korea, lol another place that does amazing drama. Whimsy got me hooked on those for a little bit, but I have to confess, it is way too hard to get anything done when you have to read your television.

My Attic is in its last days for this edition, so I am showing three of the items released for this event. I love the versatility of the first, not only one option of wear, but actually three main ones, and then extras dependent on whether you wear the stockings or not. This sequined beauty is from Elymode and is just super sexy. The 54 Dress has options of bodysuit, jumper/sweater or the mini dress. It is a mesh hybrid, having mesh sleeves and the micro mini insert where the front panel is mesh and the back is regular prim. This allows for a beautiful fit and incredibly striking look. The sleeves are flared and beautiful, with the gartered stockings a great addition to the look……….

Events – Skin Addiction Skin Showcase, Cynful & CnS Poses Birthday, My Attic, Chic 2nd Birthday

Skin Addictions Skin Showcase has started officially today. This event spans a full sim, with featured skins from skin creators that are part of the Skin Addictions Group. There are Group Gifts, if you join the Skin Addictions Group, which is a group where skin stores post their new release info as well, and there are demos being sent through the group for the event, so check your notices.

Definitely a MUST do for this Saturday is the 3rd and 4th Anniversary party of CnS Poses and Cynful. This event will be one hell of a celebration, as just any other day with Cynthia is usually a crazy fun filled day. There will be gifts and DJ’s and all sorts of greatness, so make sure you go and turn on your music.

June 3rd which is right around the corner will be Chic’s 2nd Birthday Bash, this event was huge last year, and proves to be huge again this year, so look out for that one as well.

Every Artist needs an Isla

Often as is the case with photography in Second Life, there can be a feeling of too much space. If you aren’t a location photographer, you can sometimes opt for kitting out your space to fill that void. Unfortunately though, you can spend more time than you have, searching all through your inventory for bits and pieces to fill that area, and then as a blogger, you have to gather all the info and credit it – well you should, I don’t know if you do or not. With the introduction of the WinxBox though, that has all changed. The first of many to come is the Artist Studio WinxBox by W.Winx, and it is available at this edition of My Attic @ The Deck. 

The first one is actually a collaboration effort with Adorkable Poses, they not only provided the poses that come with this awesome box, but also did an additional add on pack called Paint Me, that are also part of the My Attic event. The WinxBox and all the ones that are yet to come, were made with shadows/windlight in mind, so that you could get really beautiful effects from not only the windows and skyroof, but also the props within. I am using my two favourite poses that come with the WinxBox and one that comes with the PaintMe pack, so as you can see, you will definitely want both. The WinxBox is small enough to fit inside your own skybox or outdoors, it has a transparent front, so you can see in, but you cannot see out, so you can take shots from any angle. Also all the pieces are included as separate items, so you can use them for other scenes if wanted.

Rosey at My Attic

My Attic @ The Deck is now in full swing, and has been so wonderful to watch people taking real time to peruse all the fabulous items created for this event. Last time I posted I showed all the items really fast, this time I decided to spread them out a bit, just as I do other events. Speaking of other events, Skin Addiction is about to get underway on the 25th, which is exciting. The event is a showcase event, with many amazing skin stores showing items from their latest lines. Check with the Skin Addiction website, and Join the Skin Addiction Group as there will be Gifts set up during the event. Another great event that I cannot wait to visit is the RFL Home Expo…I did not know about this event early enough, but I am glad to have found out about it due to great posts by Willow Zander.

Science fiction Double Feature

A big shout out to Gogo for helping me get back some posts that I had lost in a recent update, I was so sad about it as I really liked them, and didn’t have the info to repost them or I would have. But through Gogo’s genius, she made me aware that if you add blogs to your Google Reader, that they often don’t update for a long time, and can still retain old posts even if deleted, sure enough I added my own blog to my own Google Reader and there they were in full, so copy and paste and VOILA back on track…I am so happy and greatful that she knew this, so THANK YOU Gorgeous Yongho !

Second Shout Out goes to Dove Swanson of Long Awkward Pose, if you haven’t heard, she is CLOSING DOWN her store in the next few weeks forever. Until then all poses are reduced, so you need to go and get all the ones you never did before then. Dove has been an incredible Pose-maker for many years, she saw holes in the market and filled them often. She definitely did a lot to make mens photography expand, as there was such a small choice in that area of poses until she came along. Also many have such fun memories of her ‘Poop Hunts” and her April Fools jokes. She will be missed as a creator, but she is staying on as a resident, and she has definitely contributed to making Second Life a very photographic space. Thank you Dove xoxox

Another big shout out to all the incredible designers that are about to be part of the next edition of My Attic, I am so excited, the items I have seen so far are just HOT HOT HOT, the theme is Memories of Love and Lust, and I am loving and lusting over it all. That will start at 00.01am 21st May, so just after midnight. I am actually featuring two of the designers participating in this post, not their items, because that would be cheating lol.

and the winner is Sydney

I have been to Adelaide, and I probably daydreamed there. I was 13 so it is highly probably, plus I was like crushing a little bit on a boy while I was there, so yeah chances are pretty high that there was a lot of daydreaming done. But then I returned to Sydney, where the days are funna and the dreams are longer…and the men are HOTTER! – here I am representing again, but at least this time I actually live here lol.

Jersey Girl
